Maximizing the Suit Wardrobe for Curvy Women.
Most women in general have a hard time finding suits that fit right and carry a style that fits their personality, but curvy women have it the toughest. When it comes to pant suits or skirt suits curvy women have the least amount of selection, both in quality and style. Most department stores only carry a few different styles, in fact its a challenge for curvy women to find enough suits to carry them through a full work week. This is where creativity comes into play because with the right amount of mixing and matching its possible to create an incredible amount of outfits using just a few pieces.

What you will need
The goal of this exercise is to create the biggest wardrobe possible in terms of distinctly different outfits. This is not to be confused with having a lot of clothes, in fact if this is done correctly 3 suits, 3 trousers, 3 skirts and 5 blouses can create up to 18 base suits/sport coat trouser combos and 50 distinct outfits, meaning that it would be possible to go for 2 working months with out repeating a single combination. The goal here is flexibility.
- Start with patterned and/or textured suits. Subtle patterns give the suit more flexibility as it can be worn as separates and paired with a bigger range of underpinnings. Look for a subtle prince of wales check or a tweed or mill finish to the garment.
- Pair it with flat and solid colored trousers and skirts. Taking the jacket and pairing it with trousers and skirts, as separates, creates many more distinct outfits that goes beyond the initial pant suit or skirt suit.
- Always pick suits and separates that follow the same lines. If your suit is a slim fit modern suit, pair it with a modern pair of trousers. If its a wide leg type suit pair it with an "A line" skirt. this maybe a little difficult to find, if you want to cut back on shopping time custom suits may be something to consider. pairing clothing with similar lines of design creates a more streamlined look when you mix and match.
- Combine your base suits with both matching and contrasting tops. Rotating your blouses accordingly can give the illusion of a much bigger wardrobe. For example a dark gray suit paired with a white shirt is a completely different look than the same dark gray jacket top paired with a khaki trouser and a pink shirt.
The main thing to keep in mind when shopping is flexibility. Mixing and matching your pant suits and skirt suits with separates can help curvy women grow and maximize their work wear outfits.
